Narcissistic Mothers Summed Up

This sums it all up pretty well.

All applies except for the last, mine is well off while I am lower income.

    1. You are not alone. Yet, everyone involve is afraid to confirm as it horrifies them. Only the brave can acknowledged this reality. I have learn to believe what I see and not blame myself for other's shortcomings or injustices.

    2. Yes sadly many refuse to accept the reality. I am glad you do not blame yourself for what others have done.

  3. OMG It's like having a mom who is simply a shell of a person. I really appreciate all the sharing people do on this issue. It's helped me tremendously!
I want to send internet hugs to all the people who have moms like this. You are valuable and deserve support and love. I'm so sorry for what you have/are going through.

    1. Sorry you got a narc MIL. Can your spouse go NC or are they interested? It may spare you some pain too. I hope you didn't get one for a mother, now that really sucks too.

  5. My mother to a tee! If you have children protect them from her. I don't allow my children to be alone with her. I'm always on my guard because if she even catches them away from me, she corners them and starts in on them. Narcissistic mothers become narcissistic grandmothers.

  6. This really captured my mother's personality very well. When 'Mommie Dearest' hit the theatres, a friend asked me if I wanted to go see it. I said I don't need to, I lived it - including bursting into my bedroom in the middle of the night and raging. Can anyone direct me to other resources specifically for sons of abusive mothers?

    1. LOL that movie matched my life too, I think I posted about it here too, I did a post on Joan Crawford. That's crazy she'd wake you up to rage, yeah we all lived in that war zone. Raised by narcissists on reddit does have a lot of male participants.

    2. Thank you for your reply and the info on reddit. I'm sorry you also had to endure those middle of the night rages by your mother. As horrible as I thought it was for her to do at the time, looking back as a adult I think it is a particularly brutal and terrifying thing to do to a child.

  7. At least most women don't have to date these NPD women.

    MGTOW for life.

  8. It's amazing how so many of us share the same exact mother. I went NC ten years ago. My only regret is not doing it sooner, without a doubt, it's the healthiest move I could have ever made. How can you miss something you never had.
